COVID-19 Update | Club Closure Extended
Dear Members,
Thank you for your patience between communications while we continue to execute our COVID protocols. Fortunately, our planning had us well prepared to quickly and effectively contain the spread within the Club. At this time, we have 4 confirmed cases (3 staff, 1 member) and 1 suspected member case who was in close contact (as defined by the CDC) with a confirmed case and is showing symptoms. Any member or staff member who was in close contact with either a confirmed case or a suspected case has been notified separately with the relevant Club protocols. Per Club protocol, the dates, times and areas in which these people were in the Club have been updated with the latest information we have and are listed below. This information is being provided solely for use as you please and not because the Club is advising any particular medical or other action.

Club Closure Extended
Although the data we have so far suggests that our policies and protocols have been very effective in containing the spread, we need more time to complete our tracing, testing and notification protocols before we can safely reopen the Club. In addition, this being our first experience with COVID at the Club, we see potential to improve our protocols even further to make the Club environment safer and reduce the downtime in the future should we have another incident of COVID at the Club. Finally, as usage of the Club is increasing, the Board felt that this was an opportune time to review our current policies, especially those on mask-less activity. For these reasons and out of an abundance of concern for the health and safety of our members, staff, families, friends and others that we come into contact with on a regular basis, the Board has decided to extend the Club closure until the morning of Sunday, September 20th. This will afford us the time to complete all of the work described above. Take-out food and beverage will resume as soon as the testing protocols are completed for all relevant staff. While the Club is closed, we will continue all virtual programming as normally scheduled.
Please know that it is not our intention to close the Club for this length of time each time there is an incident of COVID. Quite the opposite actually. We are hoping that extending the closure by a few days this time will allow us to revise our protocols and policies to reduce the number of closures and the duration of closures in the future.
Upcoming Town Hall
I would encourage as many as possible to attend the Town Hall on Monday, September 14th at 6p. We will provide updates on this incident, discuss Club actions during the closure and review the expected policies and protocols that will be in place when we reopen the Club. There will also be a member Q&A portion of the event that I expect will be robust.
I am grateful that all of the affected people so far are in fine condition, despite some discomfort, and I strongly believe that this incident will only make our Club stronger when we reopen. By now, you must know how to reach me, but just in case it's [email protected].
Sincerely,
Brent Berc
Club President
