 Mask Mandate Update

Dear Members

Last Friday, Boston Mayor Kim Janey announced an indoor mask mandate for both vaccinated and unvaccinated patrons, effective Friday, August 27th. In accordance with the city, effective this Friday, we will require all members to wear a face mask at all times while in the Club with only three exceptions: while eating/drinking in the dining area (masks to be worn when interacting with the staff), while swimming in the pool, or when showering. The Mayor's mask mandate specifically includes athletic facilities so masks must be worn while exercising and while playing squash (unless all players on the court are currently living in the same household and are vaccinated).

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we continue to monitor and follow the city's public health plan. We will update members as needed with any further information.

 Scholarship Program Overview

The University Club of Boston's Future Leaders of Boston Scholarship program awards Boston residents who are graduating seniors need based scholarships of up to $30,000 to be used over four years of college. Since the program's inception in 1977, over 150 scholarships have been granted.

These scholarship awards are made possible through the generosity of the University Club's membership.

In 2024, The UClub Scholarship Committee, in conjunction with the UClub Board of Directors, has changed its giving strategy, beginning with the graduating class of 2024. The Future Leaders of Boston Scholarship program's current model is being phased out. Going forward, the Committee will be partnering with a number of local nonprofit organizations and/or schools to provide scholarships directly to those students engaged in that organization's or schools' programming. The organization and/or school selected by the Committee must present comparable criteria to that of the Club's existing scholarship program. The UClub remains committed to mentoring and supporting the existing 20+ scholars through their graduation.

 2023 Junior Squash Summer Camps

Junior Squash Camps are a great way to get your kid(s) immersed in the game. Camps are scheduled Monday-Friday with lunch served everyday. Each week is designated by specific skill level and ages.

A typical camp day starts promptly with a warm-up and stretch, followed by a series of drills intended to challenge each player. To add some fun and a bit of competition throughout the week, the intermediate/beginner groups are split into teams from which skill specific games are generated to win points. The kids may take part in target shooting, one on one squash coaching and match preparation tips. We round out the day's activities with some games and three quarter court action!
